The Third Terrorism Circuit, chaired by Judge Wagedy Abd El-Mon’em, will hold the trial tomorrow, Saturday, for 35 defendants accused of trading foreign currency outside of official financial markets, which harms the economic situation of the country. The session will be presided over by Judge Wagedy Abd El-Mon’em, with the membership of Judges Wael Emran and Diaa Amer, and the secretary will be Mohamed Helal.

 

According to the order for referral in case number 54 of 2024, during the period from 2013 until January 8, 2024, the first to eighth defendants led a terrorist group that committed acts of violence, threats, and intimidation, with the intent to disrupt public order and endanger the security and interests of the community, impede the enforcement of the constitution and laws, prevent state institutions from performing their duties, infringe upon the personal freedoms of citizens, and damage social peace.

 

It was also noted that the ninth to twenty-fifth defendants joined this group while being aware of its objectives, while the twenty-sixth to thirty-second defendants participated in achieving the group’s goals.

 

The order for referral further states that all the defendants participated in the crime of financing terrorism, and this funding was for terrorist purposes.
